Hey, everyone! Long time, no see for most of you out there.

I went more or less inactive here on deviantART at the end of 2010, even to the point of removing many good friends and artists from my watch list to avoid a flood of activity in my Messages while away. I've been on now and then submitting the odd piece of new art, but really it wasn't just dA--I haven't done much art in general in all that time. I've done a lot of 3D work for games and stuff, but nothing artistically satisfying/impressive that's worth sharing.

It hit me recently that I ought to start taking commissions. I could really use the money these days, and it'd give me an excuse to draw again since I seem to find very little time for it on my own. So, that's what I intend to do! That, and I'm going to add some of you back to my watch list, if you're still around and active, that is.

If you're interested in commissioning me, I hope you'll find my intro rates shockingly reasonable.

Greetings ye few who dare to watch my journal entries! As usual, whenever I manage to get more or less caught up with everything in my message center, seems it's about time for a new entry just to keep things fresh.

Well, this time I have some interesting news, or what may be considered interesting news in the eye of the right beholder at any rate... It's been well over a year since I signed up for a second deviantART account, one which I intended to be primarily for my photography with some original works thrown in with the hopes of maybe making a buck or two through the Prints program. At last, I'm finally putting it to use!

I do have some original stuff here on this account already, but it's more or less become fan art centric. Anyone who's interested in keeping an eye on a different side of my art or simply likes nature photography with an amateur's twist, please pay a visit to this farandbeyond.deviantart.com/ and add it to your watch list if you should feel so inclined.

I haven't created all that much new artwork lately, and I'm talking the last year or two. It tends to have an affect on how much I upload here. Then when I actually DO create something, I'm out of the habit of sharing it. Well, my apologies for flooding everyone's message centers with a bunch of new deviations, but I figured it was about time I look through my portfolio and pick out some pieces to help bring things up to date around here.

Well, not usually anyway, but it's been awhile since i did, plus my last journal entry is from more than a year ago, and I was tagged by teh Dia of all people, so I caved in.

"Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal."

I'm abandoning the rest of the rules, so there. All right, here goes...

1. I hate the cold. We had a nice white Christmas but now I want winter to go away, quickly, forever!

2. I recently broke tradition by naming my new computer Dusknoir. Before they had all been eeveelutions.

3. Every year my Grandma gets me a box of Peanut Butter Crunch for Christmas, and I find it hilarious that the stupid picture on the back of the box hasn't changed for at least the last 5 years, maybe longer.

4. I love writing, much more so than drawing these days. Inspiration and motivation can be especially tough with writing though. Getting published is even harder still.  XP

5. I opened another DA account last year with the intent of making it primarily a photography account with perhaps some original artwork for sale as prints, but I still haven't gotten around to using it.  o.o;

6. My love of the Pokémon games lives on. Oddly enough, I find myself playing my primitive Red version more than any others lately. When I have time to play, that is.

7. The forested mountainside where I live is a lovely place for hiking in the warmer months, but you gotta watch out for snakes.

8. Between 1995 and 2000 my brother and I kept 100 pet turtles, with 13 as the highest count at once for a brief period. I sort of miss it sometimes, but it was a lot of work.

9. I used to be a semi-hardcore video gamer, but I've lost my touch, totally and entirely.  >,<

10. 2009 was the fastest flying year of my life, by far.  @_@  I got a lot done, but didn't accomplish any of my big goals for the year. I hope 2010 will move a bit slower.

I finally got all caught up in August and announced my return, only to fall behind on uploading and commenting on new art almost immediately. So it goes, nobody should be too surprised I guess.

Gonna try to pick up the pace again after the ever-busy Christmas time has passed. Is everyone enjoying the holiday season?
